So recently the Hunger games series has been the new novel that people have been talking about so after my friend Kelsie beg me to give it a try cause if you know me I am super picky when it comes to books lol before I thought about buying it I read the first two chapters online and it caught my interest. I didn’t really know what was it about so when I started reading it I needed to know what happens. So Today I ask my mom if I could go my the book which she was nice enough to let me and once I started reading I couldn’t put it down!!! If y’all have read it before the you know how bad ass Katniss (main character) which I don’t think shes even trying to be lol I cant help but to think if I was in her shoes for one I would most likely wouldn’t last a second (I’m not kidding) I have no hunting experience nor do I have any muscle I could use meaning I would be out of breath if I even tried to run lol and both of my two sisters aren’t very athletic either so it wouldn’t make a difference if they took my place like Katniss did for her sister but I think my bro would be have a chance of surviving a day or two. Thanks to my sister Mija she told me that the Hunger Games was based off a Japanese book called Battle Royale just like the Hunger Games a group of people are place on a island to fight to the death. I’ve only started the first book but I’m getting though it fast its been awhile since I found a book I cant stop reading so I hope I don’t have to wait long to buy the next book!! Plus their making it into a movie which I saw the person who plays Katniss she so pretty I knew I seen her before found out she played young mystique in X-men first class and the guy who plays Peeta is the boy from Bridge to Terabithia hes cute so I’m interested in how hes gonna win Katniss heart he has Gale to worry about. And speaking of Gale the guy who plays him isn’t how I picture him to look like I guess they had to pick someone who looks older cause thats how they picture him to be more manly looking for eighteen year old. But I’m super excited I’m glad I’m gonna get to read the book before the movie so I picture everything myself not just coping from the movie.

And since we are on the subject on The Hunger Games some youtubers I am subscribe to do recipes from books, video games you name it and I guess they could see in the future and knew I would be blogging about the hunger game so heres a video on how to make the very same bread that Peeta gave Katniss that saved her life (optional: if you want to go by the books you could even burn it if you want )

Super Dad!!

Last Wednesday my dad got into an accident he works for center point energy as a line man his job is to fix light pole so to get up there he goes up in a bucket truck. One day at work while he was going down he slipped and fell 12 feet and landed on his head and elbows. I was at school when this happen and didn’t find out till I was at home and saw him all busted up. My parents told me not to tell my sisters and brother about dad not until we got the results to the test in which took forever!! After a day or two we found out that his head was fine but he tore 2 ligaments in his shoulder which hes going to have to get surgery for and wont be able to go to work for 6 months. which is a big deal for my dad cause he cant sit still lol .

In other news I will also be going in to surgery… oral surgery that is. I will be getting my wisdom teeth taken out definitely not looking forward to it. I’m kinda scared at the fact they need to put a IV in me to make me sleepy. Which may seem easy the surgery would be over real quick but I have a fear of people messing with me while I’m asleep I have the movie Awake to blame for that plus Niptuck when the anesthesia didn’t work and she felt the whole operation (just thinking about it makes me super uncomfortable >A<). Yes, I’m probably over exaggerating a bit their not even gonna cut me open its just removing four teeth. I’ve had four teeth pulled out before and I was a champ about it but its just because they weren’t putting me to sleep.

So when I went to the consultation we needed to bring a x-ray of my teeth which my last x-ray was from two years ago so my orthodontist let me take a new one which I thought you couldn’t take them with braces but I guess you can lol. I love how x-rays look plus you can see my brace so I took a picture of it before I gave them to my oral surgeon. Of course the ones the arrows are pointing at are teeth that are gonna be taken out. The bottoms should be the ones that will hurt the most afterwards and I’m gonna be drugged up on meds for 4 day so probably gonna do it during spring break so it wont affect school. Also on a completely other note I wanna give a shout out to my awesome sister Mija who made this amazing new layout for me!!! I LOVE IT thanks again!!! and also got my new glasses today!!! I’ll take pictures soon and show y’all how they look.

2011 is now gone and a new year has started,its weird the year went so fast >__< So since I hardly updated last year I’m gonna tell you the highlights of my year. ( Stole this idea from my sisters )

In April I went to my last dance I would probably go to lol my high school prom. I didn’t have a date so I decided to go with a bunch of friends. ^^ In May I turn 18 the day before I finally graduated from high school!! Which its been about to be nine months since then but it stills feels awesome to be out of there lol Plus Jojo and Mija got engaged!! I’m so happy for them!! Its weird cause Mija is going to be the first out of the Vera girls to get married, cant wait!! o(>A<)o In September, we celebrated Kimmy’s birthday we went to a Star Wars exhibit!!! It was so much fun!!Plus daddy turn the big 5-0!!! We threw him a big party, it was a blast!! ^^ In October Mija and Jody decided to have a party for Halloween. So Kim,Mija, Jojo, Emily and me chose to match our costumes. Our theme was old Fairy tales Kim was red ridding hood, Mija was Alice, Jojo was the mad hatter, Emily was Goldie locks and I was little bo peep ^^ Kimmy was nice enough to be our seamstress.

In August I started my first semester of college!!! It feels weird to be out of high school lol but definitely don’t miss it. So far I love college besides going to have to take five stupid math classes I’m pretty happy at the moment. Hopefully I will be moving in with Mija, Jojo and Kimmy in a year or so, cant wait!! In November we celebrated Thanksgiving with tons of delicious food!! :9 In early December Kimmy was nice enough to teach me how to knit mittens and scarfs so I made my self a pair and a scarf to match. Then Christmas came early since Mija and dad had to work Monday we had to celebrate Christmas Saturday which I didn’t mind at all but this year I didn’t have a job so I couldn’t really buy presents boo >:P but my mom let me pick some gifts and let me put my name on it lol Finally New Years came and we drank sparkling juice and played Disney scene it.

Thats pretty much the highlight of my year; its weird the year went so fast!!! I’m excited about this new year there so many things to look forward to. ^^ Anyway I wish yall all have a wonderful new year!!!

The New School year!!

So summer will be over soon and I’ll be starting college the 29th which is so weird I’m used to expecting seeing all my friends again and meeting up so we could compare class but now everyone has there own thing, its sad but I’m excited unfortunately I have to take remedial classes. So hopefully I can do good and get those classes over and done with, so I can start with the classes I have to take to transfer to U of H. Besides getting ready for college I’ve been hanging out with my friends before we get to caught up with school and such.

Besides hanging out with friends, I’ve been enjoying my time with Kimmy before she goes back to Houston in two weeks. Once she goes to Houston I’ll be spending a week with her, along with the weirdos (aka Mija and Jojo) well that’s the plan any way. Also this summer a new show on ABC family came on called Switched at Birth. I fell in love with the character named Emmett which Sean Berdy plays him. Hes a deaf actor which is really interesting, hes really funny and quite handsome hes one of my celebrity crushes, he makes me wanna learn ASL just for him lol well sadly I have to wait until next summer for the new season.

So alot has happen in the last month what you ask? ^__^ I graduated from high school!!!!! o(>_<)o which is weird cause I feel like not long ago I was just a freshmen waiting with Kimmy for our mom to pick us up but that was three years ago (Kim is so old jk). Now I”m gonna be starting my college life soon I’m excited and a little scared I had trouble in high school so hopefully I don’t have problems in college as well. I will be going to BC for a semester or maybe a year who knows I have to take the compass test to see what classes to take. I know I’m probably gonna have to take a lower math cause my peanut memory doesn’t remember any algebra or math. -____- but after BC I will be transferring to U of H I will be going to school with Kimmy I was going to the Art Institute of Houston but my parents and I decided to get my hotel management then transfer over. I’m sad that I wont be starting at the Art Institute right off the bat but I’m excited to go to school with Kimmy, we will be going on the bus together ^___^ and have lunch together yay!! cant wait!!! <3 lol Anyway Kimmy and I took pics today

After taking pics with Kimmy I got to hangout with my friend Jo-hsi she was a foreign exchange student from Thailand last year she came back to Texas to visit us, my best friend Julia was suppose to come as well but she couldn’t come. oh well I had fun hanging out with her I haven’t be able to hangout or talk with friends. Cause my father took my phone and lappy away cause my room was a mess -____- I cleaned it but he still doesn’t feel like giving it back, so at the moment I’ve been using my moms and Kimmy little laptop

On other news I’ve been wanting to make homemade bread which I did took awhile but it turned out awesome.

Graduation is next week WHOA!! >o<

I spent 12 years in public school and its finally going to end next week. No more stupid (insert high school name here) to worry about but leaving high school does have there pros and cons:

CONS:

1. wont see my friends

2. wont really leave the house (only if I get a job which I’m still in the process of getting one, I guess it would help if I actually send in my application >_> lol)

3. wont get to see the teachers I actually like

4. Freaking out about college ( I’m excited about college but scare at the same time does that make sense? 0_0

PROS:

1. staying up and sleeping in late ( which will be my favorite )

2. no school ( well until I start college which will most likely be in august)

3. no dress code!!! (for some reason I would always get in trouble for this one lol)

4. no stupid APs -___-

… alrighty I guess theres more pros then cons but beside leaving my friends and freaking out about college I’m excited graduation is on the 27 of may right after my birthday yay!!! I turn 18 before I graduate lol. It kinda feels weird it feels like kim graduated not to long ago (which was two years ago gosh shes old ) and now I’m going to walk next week time pass so fast!!! It feels like not to long ago I was a freshman lol but anyway since high school is almost over college coming up I should be going to BC in august then should be transferring to The art institute of Houston!!! woo!! cant wait XD cause they recently moved to a different building so that mean my class gets new shiny stuff lol

And in other news my sister Mija got engaged :O whoa I know that means this will be the first wedding that actually matters to me and the first one I’m gonna be in lol No date decided yet but her ring in beautiful I’m so happy for her and Joe Bro XD

X-box

Sorry its been to long since my last update, so during thanksgiving I got a job at JcPenney I worked for two months with them but since I was only seasonal I got laid off once December was over but I’m kinda glad I’m not working anymore I didn’t get to see Kim at all whenever she was down. But now I don’t have to worry if I’m working that day I can just relax when I get home from school. I am gonna miss getting paid lol I liked having a income and having a associate discount (sadly I had to give it back T_T). Any enough of that for Christmas I got a drum roll please …. a X-BOX!!!!!! I know I’ve been wanting a X-box all because of my sister’s boyfriend Jody, I got addicted to his X-box So I was thrilled when I got my own Its so pretty it looks like this and it came with the kinect which is cool. I only have Bioshock 2 and left 4 dead right now, I wanna get Black ops and left 4 dead 2 and a bunch of other games but cant think of them right now. I got X-box live but its only a trial it ends the 25 so I need to buy a year membership soon since I really like the X-box live and thanks to Jody he gave me his old head set so now I can talk to strangers woo!! lol but I really want this gaming head set but its to expensive right now so I can wait I rather buy games with my money lol

Last weekend I went to Houston and Mija took me to the Japanese store and I ended up buying a matching thermos to match my bento Mija got me for Christmas

The Art Institute Of Houston

Well ever since I was a little I always like to cook ( mostly desserts). As I got older I started to freak out over what I want to do for a living, so I started thinking that I should major in culinary. To make sure that I was making the right choice I wanted to go to an open house at The Art Institute Of Houston to check it out. And omg when I got there I was so excited I got my own named tag and when i got to the culinary floor they had a buffet of sweets and cheeses. I always thought you had to actually know stuff to go to this school but no they teach you everything you need to know. So I’m finally not freaking out what I want to do with my life( which makes me extremely happy ). So about the buffet there was a giant reptile sculptor made out of white chocolate (unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of it ) oh and they had plain tarts with raspberries and blackberries(yum), my daddy ate a apple tart which sadly I didn’t try cause my sister (aka mija) told me to stop eating and ask questions, so I did. I ask one girl and found out that you really didn’t need to know stuff to be able to go to this school(which I told y’all already) and what kinda stuff they get in the starting kit,(Note: when you enter this school they give you a starting kit with tons of stuff) they get a knifes kit, a chefs coat, hat( which is awesome, I always wanted to wear a uniform) and some other kitchen utensil which is awesome.Oh and they have a summer camp for juniors and seniors, they even let yeah stay in the dorms so you can see how it is, hopefully I’m able to go
